FAQ

Frequently Aksed Questions

  1. What is this OddComment thing you’re on about?
    • OddComment is a warehouse of audio commentary for movies, t.v., short films, videos… anything that a writer, producer, director, actor of that piece of media feels deserves an audio commentary. Each and every one of these exclusive commentaries are available for download.
  2. How much does it cost?
    • The people creating the OddComments set the price. Some of them are free. Some of them aren’t. We recommend that they don’t charge you more than $1.50
  3. I downloaded the OddComment Commentary I wanted… now what?
    • Load up the dvd in your favorite viewer type thing. Make sure that the movie is ready to go. Often, DVD’s and such will have menus and other features. Skip all that rot and get the movie ready to play. Begin playing your OddComment. There will be an instruction during the commentary to “start the movie now” and a reference point or two so you can be sure you’re in the same ballpark.
  4. Shouldn’t the synchronization be more exact?
    • In our review of many audio commentaries on DVD, it never made much of a difference. Talent will often go on tangents; telling stories unrelated to what’s happening onscreen. If you’re in the ballpark, it should be fine.
  5. Why do you say “Aksed”?
    • Why don’t you?
  6. When will get more? I’m tired of coming by and only seeing x offered.
    • We’re tired of it, too. It takes a while to wrangle creative types to sit and watch something they haven’t thought of in a long time.
  7. I noticed that a bunch of the movies featured here have that guy, Dean Cameron.
    • Weird, isn’t it?
  8. Is this for real?
    • In a way, yes. This iteration is what we like to call “proof-of-concept”. If it does as well as we think it does, we go after the big money which will make it easier to wrangle creative types…
  9. May I make a request?
    • That would be great… email requests at oddcomment dot com
  10. I have a commentary I want to do.
    • Contact us at requests at oddcomment dot com we’ll set up a session and get the details hammered out.
